Public History ist eine umfassende und umstrittene Bezeichnung. Indem wir uns mit der Geschichte und Gegenwart dieses Begriffes in vergleichender Perspektive beschäftigen, wollen wir verstehen, wie das Verhältnis zwischen Geschichte und Öffentlichkeit konzeptualisiert, erforscht und praktiziert werden kann. Die Grundlage für die Diskussion sind zwei neue Buchpublikationen und ein aktueller Podcast.

Die Studierenden fertigen im Kontext der Übung mehrere kleinere mündliche Leistungen nach Maßgabe der Veranstalter an, die eine diskursive Auseinandersetzung mit den jeweils behandelten Vermittlungsformen einüben.
Auf die Studienleistungen entfallen max. 10 Stunden des Selbststudiums.
