This seminar addresses claims of widening social inequalities during the COVID-19 pandemic by reflecting these claims in existing theoretical perspectives on social inequalities and by discussing first research evidence on social inequalities during the pandemic. Attention will be paid to gender gaps in parental care and pay.
Requirements are a regular participation, the submission of two statements on the basic texts and the participation in a larger group work (3 sessions) using the Pairfam data to do own descriptive and multivariate analyses on the topic of the seminar. A stata tutorial will be provided as support of the group work.
