Im Alltag gehen wir grundsätzlich davon aus, dass alle Menschen Personen sind. In der Philosophie wird jedoch ein Unterschied zwischen Menschen und Personen gemacht. Und in ethischen und medizinischen Debatten spielt es eine Rolle, welche Wesen als Personen anerkannt werden, weil damit Lebensschutz – vor allem am Lebensanfang und am Lebensende – verbunden wird. Aber was kennzeichnet eigentlich eine Person? Tradtionellerweise wird Vernunftbegabung als wesentliches Merkmal genannt. Jedoch was bedeutet das z.B. für Menschen mit Behinderung oder für Demenzbetroffene? Wie sieht ein realistischer Personbegriff aus?
Im Seminar werden verschiedene Personbegriffe und deren Folgen für weitere Debatten diskutiert.
