In diesem Seminar wird den Fragen nachgegangen, was man unter Persönlichkeit verstehen kann, wie sich diese entwickelt, welche Rolle dabei das Zusammenspiel von familialer Sozialisation und sozialer Herkunft spielt und welche Persönlichkeitseigenschaften als im Lebenslauf ungleichheitsrelevant identifiziert werden können. Dabei wird ein besonderes Augenmerk auf die aufsehenerregende ethnografische Studie "Unequal Childhoods" der Soziologin Annette Lareau und auf die in der Persönlichkeitspsychologie etablierte Taxonomie der Persönlichkeitsmerkmale der BIG 5 gelegt.
