Teaching Specific Domains of English Language Competence (GS) focuses on the different aspects of language competence, mainly the four skills listening, speaking, reading and writing. We will in this regard also take a look at how to teach grammar and vocabulary at elementary level. We will consider appropriate teaching techniques and examine school books and other relevant material designed for young learners regarding the four skills.

Requirements for participation, required level

Please get familiar with the current curriculum for Grundschule in NRW and the elementary school course-books.
A free copy of the curriculum is available as pdf-version (just google Lehrplan Englisch Grundschule NRW)
It is recommended to take this course after completing the Introduction to English Teaching Methodology-course.
