Im Zentrum der Bildungsreformen der vergangenen zehn Jahre steht die frühe Förderung in Deutsch als Zweitsprache, die zur Erhöhung der Bildungsbeteiligung von Kindern mit Migrationshintergrund führen soll. Das Seminar ist in diesen gesellschaftspolitischen Zusammenhang zu verorten und hat das Ziel, zur kritischen Reflexion der bildungspolitischen Entwicklungen beizutragen. Zu diesem Zweck werden die Perspektiven der Politik, der Forschung und der Praxis miteinander verschränkt und es werden u.a. Gesetzesvorgaben zur vorschulischen Zweitsprachförderung, Konzeptionen von Sprachfördermaßnahmen und erste Forschungsergebnisse zu Sprachfördermaßnahmen vorgestellt.
