In der Veranstaltung werden wir die verschiedenen Funktionsklassen, die im Unterricht der Sekundarstufe I von Bedeutung sind, im Detail diskutieren (proportionale Funktionen, lineare Funktionen, quadratische Funktionen, Polynomfunktionen, gebrochen-rationale Funktionen, Exponentialfunktionen, trigonometrische Funktionen und ihre Umkehrfunktionen) und den Zusammenhang dieser Funktionsklassen zu anderen mathematischen und außermathematischer Fragestellungen untersuchen (proportionales/lineares Wachstum, exponentielles Wachstum, Lösungen von Gleichungen, geometrische Aspekte, Modellierung von realen Anwendungsproblemen).
Dem Verständnis der Eigenschaften dieser Funktionen werden auch eine Betrachtung der fundamentalen Eigenschaften der reellen Zahlen und der komplexen Zahlen sowie die Einführung eines formalen Grenzwertbegriffs und seine Anwendung dienen.

Der Abschluss des Moduls 24-ARI Arithmetik und Algebra ist dringend empfohlen.
