Das Seminar führt vertieft in zentrale Aspekte einer Soziologie des weltpolitischen Systems ein. Die Veranstaltung ist dabei bewusst interdisziplinär ausgerichtet. Es werden Texte aus den Disziplinen Soziologie, Internationale Beziehungen, der Friedens- und Konfliktforschung sowie der Politischen Theorie diskutiert. Ziel ist es, einen Einblick in die fächerübergreifenden theoretischen Debatten zur Politik (in) der Weltgesellschaft zu vermitteln und vor diesem Hintergrund aktuelle politische Ent-wicklungen kritisch zu diskutieren.
Methodik
Der Erfolg der Veranstaltung beruht ganz wesentlich auf der regelmäßigen und aufmerksamen Lektüre der jeweils angegebenen Texte. Die „Grundlagentexte“ sind von jedem verpflichtend zu lesen, die weiterführende Literatur soll eine Vertiefung in das jeweilige Thema ermöglichen.

Referate und Hausarbeiten
• Referate (Dauer ca. 20-30 Min.), Problem, Fragestellung, Argumentation (in Form von Thesen [streitbare Aussagen]), Antworten; Ausarbeitung ca. 3500-4000 Worte.
• Hausarbeit (ca. 7000 Worte): Problem, Fragestellung, Argumentation (theoretische Rahmung, methodisches Vorgehen, Begründung der Argumentationsschritte, z.B. Fallauswahl), Beant-wortung der Fragestellung, formale Kriterien (Orthographie, Interpunktion, Grammatik, Layout, Zitationsregeln, Literaturverzeichnis etc.)
Aktive Teilnahme
• regelmäßigen Teilnahme an der Veranstaltung und aktive Beteiligung in Lehrveranstaltungen
• Formulierung einer Diskussionsfrage pro Text
