Das Seminar vermittelt einen Einblick in die unterschiedlichen Varianten marktwortschaftlicher Ordnungen in Europa. Nach einer Einführung in die Theorien der "varieties of capitalism" (Hull/Soskice und andere) beschäftigt sich das Seminar mit den Wirtschaftsordnungen und der Wirtschaftspolitik in größeren und, sofern die Forschungslage es erlaubt, auch mit kleineren europäischen Volkswirtschaften. Es geht dabei auchn um die Frage, ob man unterschiedliche Formen von Marktwirtschaften nach dem Schema "liberal capitalism versus coordinated capitalism" kategorisieren kann.
