Based on introductory and more advanced texts, the class will introduce the current state-of-the art in psycholinguistic models of multimodal speech production, and identify strengths as well as weaknesses of the various existing approaches. In a collaborative fashion, we will then plan potential empirical or computational projects for evaluating as well as extending the existing models, and guide first steps towards realizing these projects. Participants are expected to read, present, and discuss research articles that report either psycholinguistic studies, theoretical linguistic/cognitive theoretical models, or computational modeling approaches.
