Das Seminar befasst sich mit Prozessen politischer Polarisierung. Wir werden zum einen unterschiedliche Dimensionen politischer Polarisierung in den Blick nehmen – von der Parteienlandschaft zum öffentlichen Meinungsbild. Zum anderen werden wir aktuelle Polarisierungstendenzen in verschiedenen Themenbereichen beleuchten, darunter zu den Themen Migration und Klimawandel. Darüber hinaus werden wir uns auch mit den Hintergründen und Auswirkungen dieser Entwicklungen für demokratische Gesellschaften auseinandersetzen.
Vorkenntnisse in der politischen Soziologie werden empfohlen.
