Im Grundkurs Kirchengeschichte werden zentrale Themen der Kirchengeschichte beginnend im Antiken Christentum bis in die Kirchliche Zeitgeschichte behandelt. Dabei geht es nicht nur um reine Wissensvermittlung von historischen Ereignissen und ihren Wechselwirkungen mit Kultur, Gesellschaft und Politik. Die Kursteilnehmerinnen und –teilnehmer sollen darüber hinaus lernen, durch die Beschäftigung mit der Kirchengeschichte ihren eigenen theologischen Standort zu klären. Erwartet wird neben der regelmäßigen Teilnahme an den Sitzungen eine grundkursbegleitende Lektüre verschiedener Texte, die in den Sitzungen bekannt gegeben werden.
