Die Vorlesung behandelt, aufbauend auf der und in Abgrenzung zu der Vorlesung "Einwanderungsrecht I", das EU-Migrationsrecht, d.h. diejenigen Normen des EU-Rechts, welche die grenzüberschreitende Migration ausländischer Staatsangehöriger regeln - sei es als "Binnenmigration" innerhalb der EU oder als Migration aus Drittstaaten. Ein Großteil der Vorlesung wird dabei die Rechtsstellung freizügigkeitsberechtigter Unionsbürger(innen) und ihrer Familienangehörigen betreffen, es werden aber auch die Rechtsstellung türkischer Staatsangehöriger nach Maßgabe des Assoziationsrechts EU/Türkei und die Rechtsstellung Drittstaatsangehöriger im EU-Migrationsrecht behandelt.

Die Vorlesung ist Bestandteil des Schwerpunktbereichs 6 (Europäisches und Internationales Öffentliches Recht) und hier des Bereichs 4 (Migrationsrecht). Sie richtet sich daher primär an Studierende dieses Schwerpunktbereiches. Daneben steht sie aber auch Gasthörerinnen und -hörern, d.h. Studierenden anderer Semester und Fachrichtungen offen.
