Die Vorlesung führt anhand der Konzepte 'Glauben', 'Religion' und 'Christentum' in die Systematische Theologie ein. Jedem Grundbegriff werden praktische und theoretische Züge zugeordnet: Frömmigkeit und Ethos, Texttypen und Kulturformen, Institutionen und Denkweisen. Sie alle sind keine abgelebte Tradition, sondern prägen die Gegenwart des Christentums. Jedes der drei Konzepte erschließt das Ganze des theologischen Denkens: als Dogmatik aus dem Glauben, als Religionstheologie und als Theorie des Christentums.
