Das Seminar vermittelt vertiefende Kenntnisse über die Möglichkeiten und Grenzen strukturprüfender Verfahren. Es werden sowohl parametrische als auch nicht-parametrische Unterschiedshypothesen-Tests besprochen und angewendet. Darauf aufbauend werden verschiedene Verfahren der Varianz- sowie Kovarianzanalyse und deren nicht-parametrischen Alternativen thematisiert. Hierzu werden jeweils Verfahren zur Überprüfung der Voraussetzung sowie zur Bestimmung der Zuverlässigkeit der eingesetzten Tests angewendet.
Das Seminar wird abwechselnd aus vorlesungsähnlichen Sitzungen und praktischen Anwendungsphase bestehen. In der Input-Phase werden zunächst die verschiedenen Verfahren und ihre Umsetzung erläutert. In der darauf folgenden Sitzung werden diese schließlich am Computer mit Hilfe der Statistiksoftware Stata eingeübt.
Gerne können auch eigene Daten im Rahmen des Seminars untersucht werden.

Grundlegende Kenntnisse im Bereich der multivariaten Statistik sowie im Umgang mit der Statistiksoftware Stata werden vorausgesetzt.
