In diesem Blockseminar geht es, wie der Titel schon sagt, um das kirchliche Amt und dessen Entwicklung und Ausbildung im ersten und im zweiten nachchristlichen Jahrhundert. Neben anderen Schriften werden besonders die Briefe des Ignatius im Mittelpunkt stehen.
