Das Seminar stellt sich der Frage, ob und auf welche Weise die Soziologie von Pierre Bourdieu der Arbeits- und Wirtschaftssoziologie neue Perspektiven eröffnet. Lassen sich zentrale Begriffe und Konzepte der Praxistheorie wie Habitus, (ökonomisches) Feld und die Ökonomie symbolischer Güter sowie ökonomisches und kulturelles, soziales und symbolisches Kapital in fruchtbarer Weise mit arbeits- und wirtschaftssoziologischen Fragestellungen verbinden? Es geht also vor allem darum, zentrale artbeits- und wirtschaftssoziologische Themenfelder, wie Arbeit, Markt und Tausch mit Hilfe der Praxistheorie zu analysieren. Wir werden zu Beginn zentrale Texte von Bourdieu selbst lesen und dann in einem zweiten Schritt aktuelle empirische Studien und theoretische Reflexionen, die mit Bourdieus Instrumentarium arbeiten.
