Mit ihrer Fläche von fast zwei Quadratmetern, ist die Haut das mit Abstand größte Sinnesorgan des Menschen und vermittelt u.A. Empfindungen von Berührungen, Temperatur und Schmerz.
Sie ist außerdem die Grenze zwischen Körper und der äußeren Welt: was unsere Haut berührt, berührt auch „uns“. Dieses „uns“, oder körperliche Selbst, ist aber eine reine Konstruktion des Gehirns und die Haut spielt dabei eine besondere Rolle.
Das Seminar verschafft einen Überblick über aktuelle neurowissenschaftliche Forschung und hat einen Fokus auf neurowissenschaftliche Messmethoden und Forschungsparadigmen.
