220106 Einführung in die Globalgeschichte (S) (SoSe 2020)

Globalhistorische Konzepte reflektieren die Weise, in der Globalisierung unser Denken über Geschichte nachhaltig verändert hat. Im Versuch, die im 20. Jahrhundert weitgehend vorherrschende Nationalgeschichtsschreibung zu überwinden, werden unter dem Begriff „Globalgeschichte“ verschiedene Ansätze verstanden, die globalisierte und globalisierende Welt zu verstehen, nationale Ordnungsvorstellungen zu hinterfragen und die Dynamiken globaler Interaktionen, Vernetzungen und Grenzüberschreitungen greifbar zu machen. Im Rahmen des Seminars wird anhand einschlägiger Texte ein Überblick zu Forschungsfragen, Problem und zur Geschichte der Globalgeschichte vermittelt. Von den Studierenden wird die Bereitschaft zur Lektüre englischsprachiger Texte erwartet.
