Von Präsenzterminen wird abgesehen - stattdessen werden die Kursinhalte im Wochenrhythmus digital zur Verfügung gestellt, ebenso entsprechende Arbeitsaufträge, um eine Studien-/ Prüfungsleistung erbringen zu können.

In diesem Seminar werden verschiedene Perspektiven zu pädagogischem Handeln und der Aufgabe von Schule im internationalen Kontext betrachtet. Der Fokus hier liegt auf dem Vergleich des deutschen und des neuseeländischen Verständnisses von Bildung und Education. Darauf aufbauend wird Schmids Konzpt der Lebenskunst und des „schönen Lebens“ as mögliches Ziel pedagogischen Handelns diskutiert. Studenten werden als Teil des Kurses zu einem laufenden Forschungsprojekt in diese Richtung beitragen und in die Grundzüge qualitativen wissenschaftlichen arbeitens eingewiesen.
