Romanticized imaginations and blatant ignorance of Native Americans have loomed large since the early days of colonization. The indigenous tribes of the United States of America have also been subject to extreme violence, racism, ostracism, forced schooling and Christianization. Their numbers have been reduced to a mind-blowing extent, pushing them so far to the margins of mainstream society that they have become invisible to many.
Drawing on various sources, in this class we will seek to grasp these peoples’ histories, cultures and belief systems, their stories and current situations.

The binding module descriptions contain further information, including specifications on the "types of assignments" students need to complete. In cases where a module description mentions more than one kind of assignment, the respective member of the teaching staff will decide which task(s) they assign the students.
