In Australien arbeiten Schüler*innen und Lehrer*innen in „Leanscapes“, also außerschulischen Lernorten. Der Begriff – so munkeln Insider entstand in einer durchzechten Nacht von Schuldirektor*innen aus „Learning“ (Lernen) und „Landcsape“ (Landschaft).

Gemeint ist damit mehr, als nur den Unterricht aus dem Klassenraum ins Freie zu verlagern. Mit der Idee der „Learnscapes“ geht es um das Lernen in Stadtteilen und Gemeinden, in Wirtschaftsbetrieben und Vereinen und um eine Identitätsbildung von Schüler*innen in ihrem sozialen, kulturellen, nationalen und religiösen Kontext.

An internationalen Beispielen von Lernorten und Initiativen soll im Seminar geprüft werden, wie Lehren und Lernen durch „Learnscapes“ multidimensional wird und welche Projektchancen und Schulentwicklungen sich daraus ergeben.
