230750 Englisch: English for Social Sciences, Level B1/B2 (S) (WiSe 2019/2020)

Contents, comment

Technical terms in short texts from some selected areas of social sciences will be introduced and put into context. Particular attention will be given to areas which present difficulties to language learners at a higher level, such as theoretical terms and concepts and their relations.

Students are invited to send me emails at: soelve.skorge@uni-bielefeld.de, stating particular areas of interest or difficulties (languagewise) as well as other suggestions for the course. I will work these into the design of the course as far as this is practicable.

Requirements for participation, required level

Successful completion of a C-Test of the Language Center (for dates please see http://www.uni-bielefeld.de/fachsprachenzentrum/tests_and_certs/placement.html)

Students who do not meet these requirements can ask the teacher for individual assessment.
