230516 Analysing and Interpreting Literary Texts: An Introductory Survey (S) (WiSe 2019/2020)

Contents, comment

This lecture will introduce first-year students to the basics of literary studies - the tools of the trade, as it were. Participants will be taught the terms and methods of analysis and interpretation of texts in the three main literary genres, poetry, drama and narrative. Primary and secondary texts discussed in class will be made available on the Lernraum.

Students are strongly urged to make time for the tutorial, which offers support in the organization of studies, practices strategies of research and the formal requirements of academic work and repeats material presented in class.
