Von der Fragestellung ausgehend, wie Kommunikation als situiertes Ereignis empirisch gefasst und untersucht werden kann, lernen die Studierenden die Methodologie der „Multimodalen Konversationsanalyse“ und zentrale Konzepte wie u.a. Emergenz, Kontingenz und Projektabilität kennen. Dabei werden die Ressourcen zur Beschreibung und konzeptuellen Fassung der verschiedenen Ebenen von Kommunikation und sozialer Interaktion – Sprache, Blick, Körper –in diesem Seminar aufgegriffen und in kleinen studentischen Projekten vertiefend eingeübt.
Die TeilnehmerInnen führen im Rahmen der Veranstaltung eigene audiovisuelle Datenerhebungen in Kleingruppen durch. Anhand der entstandenen Daten werden ausgewählte Phänomene der interaktiven Mikro-Koordinierung herausgearbeitet und systematisch beschrieben.
Der Besuch der Vorbesprechung ist notwendige Voraussetzung für die Teilnahme am Kurs.

Eine Modulabschlussprüfung kann in Form einer Hausarbeit (10 – 15 S.) auf Grundlage der erhobenen Daten erfolgen.
