In diesem Seminar werden pro Sitzung ein neurowissenschaftlicher Artikel einer klinischen Publikationen aus der Epileptologie und verwandten Bereichen der Neuropsychiatrie gegenübergestellt und diskutiert. In der zweiten Seminarhälfte, die im Krankenhaus Mara stattfindet, explorieren die Teilnehmer auch Patienten mit mediotemporalen Erkrankungen. So erhalten die Teilnehmer einen klinisch-praktischen Eindruck der behandelten Störungsbilder.

Es wird eine aktive Mitarbeit am Seminar vorausgesetzt. Für den Erwerb der Leistungspunkte sind ein Referat und die Abgabe von 8/9 der Fragen zu den Artikeln der jeweils folgenden Seminarsitzung erforderlich („Hausaufgabe“, 1 A4-Seite). In den Semesterferien nach dem Seminar wird eine Klausur mit Multiple-Choice-Fragen und kurzen Listenfragen (mit einem Alternativtermin) angeboten. Wer hieran teilnimmt, erhält auch eine benotete Prüfungsleistung.
