Der Körper stellt im Kontext Sozialer Arbeit eine, in Theorie und Praxis, zu wenig berücksichtigte Kategorie dar. Alltag und Lebenswelt sind ohne Körperbezug schlichtweg nicht denkbar, dennoch wird die Beratung von Adressatinnen und Adressaten überwiegend körperlos gedacht. Besonders offensichtlich stellt sich der Körperbezug im Kontext Sozialer Arbeit in gesundheitsbezogenen Arbeitsfeldern dar, hier offenbart sich auch in besonderer Weise die „Sperrigkeit“ und „Nicht-konformität“ des Körpers. Das Seminar befasst sich zunächst mit relevanten Entwicklungslinien von Gesundheit und Sozialer Arbeit und sensibilisiert für aktuelle Diskurse zum Thema Körper und Soziale Arbeit. Die Aufbereitung der zentralen körpersoziologischen Theorien von Foucault, Bourdieu und Goffman in ihrer Bedeutung für die gesundheitsbezogene Beratungspraxis bilden den inhaltlichen Schwerpunkt des Seminars.
