260055 Was die Welt im Innersten zusammenhält – Eine Einführung in die Metaphysik (S) (WiSe 2018/2019)

Metaphysik untersucht die Struktur der Realität und versucht herauszufinden, welche Arten von Dingen es gibt und wie sie zusammenhängen. In diesem Seminar werden wir uns mit den zentralen Themen der analytischen Metaphysik auseinandersetzen und dabei unter anderem folgende Fragen behandeln: „Gibt es Röte oder nur rote Dinge?“, „Sind materielle Objekte mehr als die Summe ihrer Teile?“, „Welche Implikationen hat die Relativitätstheorie für unser Verständnis von Zeit?“, „Welche Beziehung besteht zwischen Ursachen und ihren Wirkungen?“, „Haben wir einen freien Willen?“, „Gibt es menschliche Rassen?“ und „Auf welcher Grundlage lassen sich solche Fragen überhaupt entscheiden?“

Als Textgrundlage wird uns die gut zugängliche englischsprachige Einführung „Metaphysics: An Introduction“ von Alyssa Ney (2014) dienen. Vorkenntnisse sind nicht erforderlich.
