360041 Von heiligen Sandalen und gekreuzigten Superhelden: Theologische Themen und Motive in Spielfilmen (BS) (WiSe 2018/2019)

Künstlerische und kommerzielle Spielfilme greifen immer wieder christliche Motive auf, teils als ausdrückliches Thema des Films, teils als erzählerische oder kinematographische Stilmittel. Ziel des Seminars ist zum einen der Erwerb medienkritischer Kompetenz im Umgang mit diesen Darstellungen, d.h. das Erlernen von Theorien und Methoden der inhaltlichen, ästhetischen und sozialkritischen Filmanalyse; zum anderen das Herausarbeiten und Kategorisieren von Tropen und Trends in der Darstellung von Religion im Film. Das Spektrum der zur Diskussion stehenden Filme umfasst dabei Filme über Religion (bspw. Die letzte Versuchung Christi, Das Leben des Brian), religiöse Filme (bspw. die Left behind-Trilogie) und vordergründig areligiöse Filme mit theologischen Bildern und Motiven (bspw. Neo als messianischer Held in Matrix, Supermans Tod und Wiederauferstehung in BvS/Justice League).
