Was heißt Rezeption, warum lohnt es sich, die Rezeption vormoderner Kunstwerke zu erforschen, und wie ist dies überhaupt möglich? Wird die Betrachtung und Deutung von Bildern in diesen bereits vorweggenommen oder ist sie von externen Faktoren abhängig? Wie ändert sie sich im Laufe der Zeit? Diese Fragen behandelt die Methoden-Übung für Bachelor-Studierende der Bild- und Kunstgeschichte sowie der Geschichtswissenschaften (hier als Grundseminar Methodik).
In der ersten Hälfte des Semesters stehen verschiedene Theorien der Rezeption sowie methodische Ansätze zu ihrer Erforschung im Mittelpunkt, in der zweiten Hälfte des Semesters die Anwendung bzw. Diskussion der Theorien und Methoden an konkreten Fallbeispielen vormoderner Kunstwerke.

In cases where a module description mentions more than one kind of assignment, the respective member of the teaching staff will decide which task(s) they assign the students.
Die Studienleistung setzt sich aus zwei Teilen zusammen: Jede/r Teilnehmer/in verfasst 1. drei Lektüre-Protokolle und übernimmt 2. eine Objektvorstellung (in Gruppenarbeit).
