Si bien las películas y programas de televisión se han mantenido en las preferencias de las audiencias latinoamericanas, estas han tenido que intensificar su alcance mediante las nuevas plataformas de distribución en línea. De esta manera el consumo de contenido audiovisual a través de Netflix, Amazon, Hulu etc hace evidente la gran importancia que tiene la cultura digital al momento de intentar analizar la actualidad audiovisual latinoamericana.
En los últimos años dentro de la plataforma Youtube, acompañada con otras redes sociales, se ha generado una narrativa muy específica en la que los límites entre creador de contenido y audiencia se diluyen. Esto se nos presenta como una respuesta al discurso hegemónico dentro de los medios tradicionales, sin embargo, en estas nuevas producciones culturales se mantienen latentes varios contenidos ideológicos y representaciones de personas o grupos sociales. Este seminario discutirá los diferentes condicionantes que afectan la creación/consumo de contenidos en esta plataforma.
