Ablenkung ist ein Alltagsphänomen, das in den letzten Jahren durch Nutzung moderner Technologie (z.B. Smartphone) verstärkt in das öffenltiche Bewusstsein gelangt ist. Das kürzlich erschienene Buch "The distracted mind: Ancient brains in a high-tech world" von Adam Gazzaley & Larry Rosen widment sich diesem Thema auf dem Stand des aktuellen Wissens aus Psychologie und Neurowissenschaften. In diesem Seminar soll das Buch in Form von Referaten erarbeitet und kritisch diskutiert werden, wobei unterstützende oder widersprechende englischsprachige Forschungsarbeiten (Journal-Papers) eine wichtige Rolle spielen werden.

Das Seminar richtet sich an B.Sc. Hauptfachstudierende, die das Anwendungsfach IV „Neurowissenschaften“ gewählt haben. Kenntnisse der wesentlichen Inhalte der Vorlesungen X.1 (Einführung in die Neuropsychologie; Kognitive Neurowissenschaften I) und X.2 (Einführung in die Neurokognitive Psychologie; Kognitive Neurowissenschaften II) sowie Biologischer Psychologie I und II, Wahrnehmungs- und Kognitionspsychologie werden vorausgesetzt.
