Das Seminar verfolgt das Ziel, an ausgewählten Beispielen die Darstellung der Jugendrebellion und Generationenkonflikte in amerikanischen, deutschen und englischen Filmen der 50er und 60er Jahre des 20. Jahrhunderts zu untersuchen und miteinander zu vergleichen.

Voraussetzung für eine erfolgreiche Teilnahme am Seminar ist eine grundsätzliche Kenntnis der (mentalitäts-)geschichtlichen Situation Ende der 50er und Anfang der 60er Jahre in den Filmherkunftsländern.

Formale Teilnahmevoraussetzungen:
Germanisten: Teilnahme an der "Einführung in die Medienanalyse"
Anglisten: Teilnahme am Basismodul 3: Literature
Bedingung für Teilnahmeschein: Regelmäßige Teilnahme, Übernahme eines Referats oder Protokolls
Bedingung für Leistungsnachweis: Schriftliche Hausarbeit

Teilnahmebeschränkung: 40 Teilnehmer. Da das Seminar für Germanistik und Anglistik angeboten wird, können zunächst 20 Germanisten und 20 Anglisten aufgenommen werden.

Zur Vorbereitung empfohlen:
Schock und Schöpfung: Jugendästhetik im 20. Jahrhundert. Hrsg. v. Deutschen Werkbund e.V. und Württembergischen Kunstverein Stuttgart. Darmstadt und Neuwied 1986 (darin die Kapitel über die50er und 60er Jahre)
