Trotz zunehmender Medienkonkurrenz wurde und wird die Kultur der westlichen Welt maßgeblich durch das geschriebene Wort geprägt. Entsprechend finden sich in der (erzählenden und autobiographischen) Literatur zahllose Beschreibungen der ?inneren Dramaturgie? des Lektürevorgangs, Berichte über die Lesesozialisation des Autors/Helden, Reflexionen über Sinn und Unsinn des Lesens bzw. eines Lektürekanons sowie Charakterisierungen des Leseverweigerers und des Viellesers. Das Seminar wird das Motiv des 'lesenden Helden' bzw. autobiographische Berichte über die Lesesozialisation von Schriftstellern (von Goethe und Jean Paul über Lichtenberg und Schopenhauer bis Kafka, Canetti, Arno Schmidt und Handke) als Gegenstand des Literaturunterrichts erörtern. Hierbei soll besonderes Gewicht auf den Aspekt der Textauswahl bei der Reihenplanung für den Deutschunterricht der unterschiedlichen Schulformen und Jahrgangsstufen gelegt werden.
Ein Reader zum Seminar ist zum Vorlesungsbeginn im Sekretariat erhältlich.
