Zugänge zu Paulus, seinem Leben und Werk suchen bereits die Apostelgeschichte und die deuteropaulinischen Briefe, auf andere Weise die apokryphen Paulus-Akten. Die Spuren der Interpretation und Rezeption des Apostels reichen von der urchristlichen Zeit bis in die Gegenwart; sie finden sich in der Theologie (Augustin, Martin Luther, Albert Schweitzer, Karl Barth) ebenso wie in der Kunst (Albrecht Dürer, Lucas Cranach, El Greco, Caravaggio, Rembrandt, Januarius Zick, Ernst Barlach), in der Musik (Felix Mendelssohn-Bartholdy, Johannes Brahms, Igor Strawinsky), in der Literatur (Franz Werfel, Pier Paolo Pasolini, Gérard Messadié, Susanne Krahe) oder in der modernen Philosophie (Giorgio Agamben, Alain Badiou).
Im Verlauf des Seminars sollen die hermeneutischen Voraussetzungen ausgewählter Zugänge erhoben werden. In einem zweiten Schritt wird es darum gehen, beispielhaft mögliche Impulse jedes Zugangs für die Vermittlung des Paulus und seiner Theologie zu erarbeiten.

Teilnahmevoraussetzungen: Griechischkenntnisse, NT-Proseminar, Bereitschaft zur Ausarbeitung eines Referates.
