Nach einer Einführung in die Arbeitsweise der international vergleichenden Erziehungswissenschaft werden im Seminar die Schulsysteme der neuen EU-Mitglieder vorgestellt und miteinander sowie mit dem deutschen Schulsystem verglichen, unter anderem in Bezug auf Kerncurricula, nationale Leistungsstandards, PISA-Ergebnisse, europäische Dimension der Curricula, den Umgang mit sozialer, sprachlicher, ethnischer und religiöser Heterogenität, Integration in internationale Kooperationen usw.
