Verstehen ist der Grundbegriff der Hermeneutik, diese die geisteswissenschaftliche Methodenlehre, und um sie geht es in der Methode sowie um einzelne, meist philosophische Repräsentanten, des weiteren um systematische Ansätze, wie sie im Anschluss an Karl Bühlers Organon-Modell entwickelt werden können, aber auch um Einzelfragen, mit denen Bezüge zu Schulwissenschaften und Alltagsdenken hergestellt werden: Hin- und Herübersetzen, Alltagslogik, Verstehen von Texten oder die Bedeutung von Sprache für das Verstehen.
