Der Grundkurs soll die Teilnehmerinnen und Teilnehmer mit zentralen Fragen und Positionen der Theoretischen Philosophie bekannt machen. In der Erkenntnistheorie stehen Rationalismus, Empirismus und Transzendentalismus im Vordergrund, in der Sprachphilosophie geht es um Theorien der Bedeutung, in der Philosophie des Geistes kommen die wesentlichen Positionen zum Körper-Geist-Problem und zur Natur von Intelligenz zur Sprache, in der Wissenschaftsphilosopie wird die Beschaffenheit der wissenschaftlichen Methode und der wissenschaftlichen Bestätigung besprochen.
Grundlage für die benotete Einzelleistung ist (im BA- oder MA of Education-Studiengang) die regelmäßige Teilnahme und drei kürzere schriftliche Arbeiten.

Keine. Der Kurs gehört für alle Studierenden im BA-Studiengang zum Pflichtprogramm, das im ersten Studienjahr absolviert werden muss.
