In diesem Seminar sollen die räumlichen, sozialen und psychologischen Grundlagen des Tourismus vorgestellt und erörtert werden. Im Einzelnen sind die folgenden Fragenkreise vorgesehen:
1. Theoretische Ansätze zur Tourismuswissenschaft
2. Geschichte des Fremdenverkehrs
3. Das Fremdenverkehrsangebot und die Standorte des Fremdenverkehrs
4. Die Fremdenverkehrsnachfrage: Reisemotive, Freizeitaktivitäten und Reiseintensität
5. Folgen des Tourismus
6. Konzepte gegen den Massentourismus: "sanfter Tourismus" und "sustainable development"
7. Tourismus in den Ländern der Dritten Welt
8. Neue Entwicklungen im Tourismus
