In den Neurowissenschaften werden unter dem Thema "Developmental Cognitive Neuroscience" (übersetzt in etwa "Entwicklungsneurowissenschaften") Beziehungen zwischen der Gehirnentwicklung und der kognitiven Entwicklung über das Lebensalter untersucht. Beispielsthemen sind:
·         Epigenetic development

·         Prenatal environment and human development

·         Multilingualism

·         Link between emotional and cognitive development

·         Development of time perception, comparing development in children and changes in higher age

·         Individual differences in aging

·         Emergence of consciousness in development

·         Development of executive functions and its relation to self regulation

·         Neural correlates of giftedness

·         Development of Theory of Mind

·         Adolescence

·         Educational interventions from an economical point of view

·         Ethical considerations in Developmental Neuroscience

Lernziel:
Einen Einblick in aktuelle neurowissenschaftliche Forschung erhalten.
Wissenschaftliche Artikel lesen, verstehen, kritisch diskutieren und präsentieren.
Vorgehen:
In dem Seminar werden wir zunächst einige Grundlagen der Hirnentwicklung und kognitiven Entwicklung erarbeiten und anschließend anhand ausgewählter aktueller Forschungsarbeiten Ergebnisse zu diesen typischen Fragestellungen lesen und diskutieren.
Regelmäßige Lektüre englischsprachiger Texte aus Lehrbüchern und Forschungspublikationen wird erwartet. Diese Texte werden wir im Seminar anhand von Arbeitsaufgaben (Einzel- und Gruppenarbeiten) vertiefen oder Studierende stellen Forschungsergebnisse in Form von Referaten und Postern vor.
