Zunehmend werden Identitätsbildungsprozesse von Kindern und Jugendlichen durch die Medien unterstützt und beeinflusst. Aus diesem Grund beschäftigt sich auch die wissenschaftliche Literatur immer mehr mit diesem Thema. Im Seminar sollen erstens wichtige Ansätze dargestellt und diskutiert werden, die die Entwicklung von Medienidentitäten zu erklären versuchen. Zweitens sollen empirische Ergebnisse zum Thema in den Blick genommen werden. Drittens geht es um eigene Analysen von medialen Räumen (z.B. Chat-Rooms), die gegenwärtig für Identitätsbildungsprozesse von Jugendlichen wichtig sind.
