250061 Ethnizität als Differenzkategorie - erziehungswissenschaftliche Forschung praktisch (S) (WiSe 2013/2014)

Unterscheidungen nach Ethnizität, d.h. gemäß der Definition von Max Weber (1956): nach Kultur, Sprache, Nationalität und Religion, machen sozial Unterschiede (G. Bateson). Dies trifft auch und besonders im Bereich von Erziehung und Bildung zu. Die Ergebnisse erziehungs- und sozialwissenschaftlicher Studien belegen die weitreichenden Effekte, die Unterscheidungspraktiken entlang ethnisch codierter Differenzkategorien zeitigen können, etwa im Falle der signifikanten und anhaltenden Bildungsungleichheit von Schülerinnen und Schülern mit Migrationsgeschichte im deutschen Schulsystem.
Neben einer systematischen Beschäftigung mit solch einschlägigen Studien, einschlägigen Theorien und empirischen Zugängen wird es im Seminar auch darum gehen, eigene überschaubare Forschungsvorhaben im Themenbereich ‚Erziehung in der Migrationsgesellschaft’ theoretisch gut begründet und methodologisch wie methodisch reflektiert zu konzipieren und umzusetzen.
