Wann ist ein Mann ein Mann? Dieses Thema kann nicht nur gesanglich verhandelt werden und ist nicht neu, sondern wird auch in der Antike diskutiert. In dem Seminar möchten wir mit Ihnen anhand unterschiedlichster Texte und auf verschiedenen Feldern (Medizin, Recht, Mythos, Tragödie, Komödie, Invektive, Philosophischer Dialog) aus der griechischen und römischen Antike rekonstruieren und diskutieren, wie Geschlecht und Geschlechterverhältnisse intersektional gedacht werden konnten. Wie wurden Männer zu Männern und Frauen zu Frauen? Welche Formen von Geschlechtern gibt; wie verhielten sich die Geschlechter zueinander? Welche Unterschiede lassen sich zu verschiedenen Zeiten und in verschiedenen Gesellschaften greifen?
Ziel soll es sein, zu zeigen, wie ein Blick auf die antiken Konstruktionen von Geschlechtlichkeit und Sexualität helfen kann, die Spezifika der griechischen und römischen Gesellschaften zu verstehen und die Interdependenz zwischen Geschlecht und Gesellschaft zu verdeutlichen.
Lateinkenntnisse sind in diesem Seminar nicht notwendig. Alle Texte werden zweisprachig zur Verfügung gestellt (Lernraum).
