Das Seminar verfolgt zwei Ziele: In der ersten Hälfte des Semesters werden wir uns mit eher handwerklichen Techniken der Fragebogenkonstruktion beschäftigen, u.a. der Formulierung von Fragen, der Wahl von Antwortkategorien, dem Aufbau und der Gestaltung von Fragebögen. Hierbei sollen auch medienspezifische Besonderheiten beachtet werden (persönliche Interviews, Telefon- und Onlinebefragungen sowie postalische Befragungen). Im zweiten Teil des Seminars werden Skalierungstechniken wie z.B. Likert- oder Guttmanskalierung behandelt, die sich intensiver mit Messkonzepten und der Qualität (Validität und Reliabilität) von Fragesammlungen befassen.
Geplante Arbeitsformen: Gruppen- und Plenumsarbeit.
Lernziele und Kompetenzen: Die Studierenden lernen die Möglichkeiten und Grenzen der Fragebogenkonstruktion ebenso kennen wie Strategien und Methoden der Skalenbildung. Dies fördert ihre Kompetenz zur Operationalisierung theoretischer Konstrukte und damit ihre Kompetenz zur Konstruktion eigener Erhebungsinstrumente sowie indirekt auch ihre Kompetenz zur empirischen Hypothesenprüfung.
Grundlegende Methoden- und Statistikkenntnisse im Umfang von Statistik I + II des BA-Studiengangs werden vorausgesetzt.
