El propósito de este seminario consiste en analizar los principales paradigmas teórico-metodológicos que caracterizan el pensamiento histórico literario en Centroamérica y sus implicaciones en el ámbito político, ideológico y cultural.
Para llevar a cabo este objetivo, se tomará en cuenta una selección de textos críticos y documentos historiográficos específicos (antologías poéticas, diccionarios literarios, textos ensayísticos e historias literarias nacionales y regionales) que permitan analizar las diferentes perspectivas y desafíos que desde finales del siglo XIX hasta la actualidad han configurado la formación de una conciencia histórica de las literaturas y las sociedades centroamericanas.
Con la finalidad de brindar una perspectiva inter disciplinaria, se entenderá la historiografía literaria centroamericana como una práctica ideológica y socio discursiva a partir de la cual se pueden analizar las implicaciones políticas, ideológicas y culturales que realiza el sujeto intelectual centroamericano para interpretar de manera histórica sus procesos literarios y tensiones sociales más representativas.
