„Verstehen ist einfach“ – trifft dieser aus der Werbung bekannte Slogan auch auf die pädagogische Beratung zu? Ein Blick in die einschlägige Literatur zeigt, dass das nicht der Fall ist. Schon der Begriff des Verstehens ist in hohem Maße klärungsbedürftig. Was heißt es überhaupt, einen anderen Menschen zu verstehen? Dieser Frage wollen wir nachgehen und sie dabei in drei Teilfragen auffächern: Gibt es einen Unterschied zwischen Erklären und Verstehen? Wie ist es möglich, einen Zugang zu Gedanken und Gefühlen anderer zu finden? In welchem Sinne ist Verstehen in der pädagogischen Beratung ein alltags- bzw. lebensweltbezogenes Verstehen?

Das Seminar ist als Lektüreseminar konzipiert. Im Vordergrund steht die möglichst genaue Lektüre der Texte, die in den einzelnen Sitzungen behandelt werden sollen. Davon ausgehend soll dann in einem zweiten Schritt eingeübt werden, wie das Gelesene für die Klärung übergreifender systematischer Fragestellungen fruchtbar gemacht kann.
