Unter Erkenntnistheorie versteht man die philosophische Untersuchung des Phänomens menschlichen Wissens. Was für Bedingungen müssen erfüllt sein, damit man zu Recht davon sprechen kann, dass jemand etwas weiß? Gehört es zu diesen Bedingungen, dass Wissen immer auf guten Gründen beruhen muss? Müssen gute Gründe ihrerseits gut begründet sein, und wenn ja, müsste die Kette der Gründe dann nicht bis Unendliche weitergehen? Was ist von den diversen Varianten des Skeptizismus zu halten, die uns davon überzeugen wollen, dass alles (oder fast alles), was wir zu wissen glauben, angezweifelt werden könne und deshalb nicht als echtes Wissen gelten dürfe? Hat Wissen, das auf eigener Sinneserfahrung beruht, einen besonderen Stellenwert, kann man es als unmittelbar gegeben ansehen? Gibt es auch Wissen, das gänzlich unabhängig von der Erfahrung ist?
In dieser Einführungsveranstaltung werden diese und weitere Fragen und einige der Antworten auf sie, die in der philosophischen Literatur diskutiert worden sind, vorgestellt. Der Schwerpunkt wird auf der Erkenntnistheorie der Gegenwart liegen. Die Veranstaltung ist keine Vorlesung, sondern setzt in jeder Sitzung die gründliche Vorbereitung der jeweiligen Textgrundlage durch ausnahmslos alle Teilnehmerinnen und Teilnehmer voraus.

Voraussetzung für die Vergabe von 2 Leistungspunkten (BA- und MA ed.-Studiengang) ist die regelmäßige und aktive Teilnahme sowie das Erbringen des schriftlichen oder mündlichen Beitrags im Umfang von maximal 1200 Wörtern für das Modulportfolio, auf dem die unbenotete Moduleinzelleistung beruht. Die Anforderungen für den Modulportfolio-Beitrag werden zu Veranstaltungsbeginn bekannt gegeben.
