Es werden wichtige Beispiele partieller Differentialgleichungen (u.a. die Laplacegleichung, die Wärmeleitungsgleichung und die Wellengleichung) und Lösungsmethoden studiert.
Für Studierende im Bachelorstudiengang (fachwiss., neues Modell): Im SoSe 2014 wird ein Seminar 24-BAFW angeboten, welches auf dieser Veranstaltung aufbaut und zur Bachelorarbeit führt.
Für Studierende im Masterstudiengang (fachwiss., neues Modell): Im WiSe 2014/15 und SoSe 2015 werden Veranstaltungen zu Harmonischer Analysis und Evolutionsgleichungen für das Modul Spezialisierung 2-Analysis angeboten, welche auf dieser Veranstaltung aufbauen.
