Die Sozialpsychologie, eine der umfangreichsten psychologischen Teildisziplinen, erforscht empirisch/experimentell Verhaltensweisen und innere Prozesse von Individuen: Soziale Kognition, Emotion und Motivation, Lernen und Modifikation von Verhalten und Einstellungen, Soziale Interaktion und Kommunikation, Gruppenprozesse und Selbstkonzepte. Gegenstand der Vorlesung sind Theorien, Methoden und Gegenstände des Faches. Die Lehrveranstaltung eignet sich nicht fürs 'Fernstudium'; nur tatsächliche Präsenz ist sinnvoll, auf Medieneinsatz wird weitgehend verzichtet.

Die Vorlesung bringt eine Einführung in Psychologie und Hautgebiete der Sozialpsychologie für Studierende aller Semester und Studiengänge der Universität Bielefeld, die Sozialpsychologie als frei zu wählendes Nebenfach, Ergänzungsfach bzw. im Rahmen von Vernetzung wählen.
