In this course, we will focus on theories and concepts of personality development, adopting a developmental perspective that covers the entire life span, from childhood until very old age. Besides basic conceptions of consistency and change in personality during the life course, specific personality domains and self-conceptions (e.g. BIG 5, goals) will be covered. Students will familiarize themselves with the study of personality development from a life span perspective, read and discuss scientific articles and deepen their knowledge on the methods that are employed in this area.
Course language will be English; in case that there will be only German speaking students in attendance of the class, it will be switched to German.
The class is recommended for students in their fourth B.Sc. Psychology semester.
Literature will be announced in class. If possible, both German and English literature will be provided.
